Food and nutrition

Food is important to us at Play 2 Learn. A child’s diet in the early years builds the foundations for their ability to grow, learn and thrive. Research confirms that healthy eating habits in the years before school influence a range of health and development outcomes in later life. Our partnership with the Professional Nursery Kitchen guarantees the delivery of fresh and healthy meals that are perfectly balanced to ensure your child obtains the right amount of energy, nutrients and variety of food.

Vegetarians and vegans are catered for, as are children with special dietary needs, allergies or religious requirements.

We believe uniforms build a sense of community and help children prepare for school. Your child will enter the nursery looking forward to their day, ready to interact, have fun and learn. You will love how the uniform helps speed up your morning routine, giving you one less thing to worry about.

Uniforms are compulsory for our pre-schoolers (Dragonflies and Fireflies). Uniforms are not available for other age groups.

Government funding

The government funds councils to offer subsidised early education places in nurseries. We offer funded places for 2 and 3+ year olds. Please visit the Childcare Choices website to learn more about funding and eligibility.

Stretched funding offer

We do not provide term-time only funding. Our funding is stretched over 52 weeks.

This means you get fewer hours of funding per week. However, being able to spread the funding over a longer period of time means your child gets to play with their friends and benefit from nursery life throughout the year.

Please note that funded sessions do not include food and drink, or access to our extracurricular clubs, activities and special events. These can be purchased for a fee.

Our participation in the funding scheme does not guarantee the availability of a place.

How to register for a place and get settled in

We recommend that you first book a visit so you can get to know our team and culture to see if we are a good fit. We can then provide you with a registration form. If we do not have any spaces available, we will invite you to join our waiting list.

Once you have registered and paid your registration fee and deposit, we offer settling in sessions to help you and your child become more familiar with our environment and routines. This also gives you the opportunity to get to know your child’s key person.
