About Us

Play2Learn took 2 years to design and a further year to build with architects to provide a unique privately owned children's day nursery attached to general practitioner, nursing and community services all under one roof. The centre cost £2m to build.

It is owned and managed on a daily basis by Jacky Roast who has over 25 years experience of working in Essex nurseries, before entering into nursery management and later to become a qualified NVQ Early Years assessor. The nursery was built to Jacky's specifications and is managed using best practices through experience.

After being open for their first year, OFSTED inspectors reported:

"Children feel secure and demonstrate a sense of trust"
"Children are treated as individuals"
"All children are valued and their needs met"

Since opening Play2Learn have won the Thurrock Business Awards category for "New Company" 2006. The judges were clearly impressed after their inspection visit and recorded "They have a passion for establishing high quality day care".
In March 2007 they won the Thurrock Business Awards category  for "Excellent Customer Service".  and were in the top 9 finalists over 300 other companies for "New company 1 to 3 years". The judges stated" The company are committed to the highest standards of child care". They have unbounded enthusiasm and have established a professional nursery for 0 - 5 year olds.

In May 2007 they were awarded the Highly Commended Category
for "New Company" in the Essex Countrywide Business Awards.
The judges recorded "The standard in excellent, the dedication
outstanding and the team effort is amazing".
